The alternative to a nursing home is not always the family doing everything themselves.

Full time care, inside the home
When live-in makes sense

Hourly care stops working at a certain point.

Most families start with a few hours a day and move to live-in when one of these becomes true.

bedtime

The nights are the problem

Wandering, confusion, calling out, or needing the bathroom repeatedly. If nobody in the house is sleeping, daytime care is not solving it.

bed

They cannot be left alone safely

Fall risk, dementia, post-stroke or bedridden. Once unsupervised time is unsafe, hourly gaps are the risk.

groups

The family is doing the caring

When a spouse in their seventies or a working daughter is the primary carer, live-in is usually cheaper than the cost of them burning out.

You are stacking multiple carers

Three shifts, three faces, three handovers. For someone confused or frail, continuity of one person is better care.

accessible

Mobility needs two hands

Transfers, hoists, wheelchair and bathroom assistance that genuinely cannot be done alone or in a rush.

favorite

They are lonely, not just unwell

Isolation accelerates decline. A live-in carer is company as much as they are care.

What is included

A live-in carer runs the day, not just the tasks.

Personal care

Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care, handled with dignity and without rushing.

Mobility and transfers

Getting up, walking, wheelchair, hoist and bathroom transfers, done safely rather than improvised.

Medication management

Correct medication at correct times, tracked daily, with the family and doctor kept informed.

Meals and nutrition

Cooking to their diet and preferences, encouraging intake, monitoring hydration and appetite changes.

Household and routine

Their laundry, their room, their schedule. A live-in carer keeps the day structured, which matters most in dementia.

Company and engagement

Conversation, walks, outings and activity. The part families most often say made the biggest difference.

Live-in or rotating shifts?

They are not the same thing and one is usually clearly better for your situation. Tell us the case and we will explain which and why, including the cost difference.

How it works

From first message to care at the door.

Home and needs assessment

We look at the care needed, the accommodation available and the family's schedule before quoting anything.

We shortlist carers

Language, experience, temperament and whether they can handle this specific case. Not just who is free.

You meet them first

Live-in is someone in your home every day. You meet the carer before committing, and you can say no.

Settling in and review

We check in through the first weeks and will replace the carer if the match is wrong. That is on us, not on you.

We interviewed three carers and chose the one my mother responded to best. Being given the choice mattered more than we expected.

My father is bedridden after his stroke and needs someone there constantly. Live-in cost us less than the rotating shifts we had before.

The first carer was not the right fit and they replaced her within a week without any argument about it.

More than care. She takes him out, she talks to him, she has genuinely become part of the family.

We were seriously considering a care home. Live-in meant my grandmother never had to leave her own flat.

FAQ

Questions families ask before booking.

What accommodation does a live-in carer need?
A private room is the standard requirement, plus meals. It does not need to be large, but the carer needs somewhere to rest properly, because a carer who is not sleeping is not a safe carer.
Does a live-in carer work 24 hours a day?
No, and be careful of anyone who says they do. A live-in carer is present around the clock but needs rest periods and time off. For genuinely continuous care through the night, rotating shifts or a waking night carer is the right structure, and we will tell you which your case needs.
What is the difference between a live-in carer and a live-in nurse?
A carer handles personal care, mobility, meals, medication reminders and daily support. A nurse performs clinical tasks: injections, wound care, catheters, tube feeding. Many cases need a carer, and paying nurse rates for carer work is a common and expensive mistake. We will tell you which you need.
Can we meet the caregiver before deciding?
Yes, and we recommend it. This is someone living in your home. Everyone involved does better when the family has chosen rather than been assigned.
What if the carer is not the right fit?
We replace them. It happens sometimes and it is not a failure, it is a mismatch. We would rather change the carer in week one than have an unhappy arrangement running for months.
How much does a live-in caregiver cost in Dubai?
It depends on the level of care, whether nursing skills are required, and the days per week. Live-in is usually significantly cheaper per hour than hourly or shift care. We quote clearly after understanding the case.
